So far, there have been no reports of disruption to Metro services despite the heavy downpour in Mumbai

As schools and colleges remained closed and many offices asked employees to work from home, Mumbai Metro services witnessed minimal commuter footfall on Monday

Meanwhile, several suburban train services on the Central and Western Railway lines have been affected due to the heavy rains

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued red alerts for Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, and several ghat regions of Maharashtra, warning of extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places accompanied by strong winds over the next two days. The forecast comes amid an active monsoon spell that has already disrupted normal life across parts of the state
