To prevent any untoward incidents, the police have put in place strict security measures across Mumbai. Police checkposts (nakabandis) will be set up at major junctions and important roads, while street patrolling will be intensified throughout the city
The police have warned that strict action will be taken against offences such as eve-teasing, the sale of illicit liquor, and drug-related activities
