Light rainfall lashed parts of Mumbai on Sunday, bringing much-needed relief to residents after several days of hot and humid weather across the city and its suburbs. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Mumbai is expected to witness partly cloudy skies across the city and suburbs on Sunday, with the possibility of light rain during the evening and night hours. (PIC/ ATUL KAMBLE)

Earlier in the morning, in its nowcast warning issued at 7 am on June 21, the IMD placed Mumbai under a yellow alert valid for the next three hours. The department stated that light to moderate rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated locations, with a possibility of thunderstorms and lightning in some parts of the district. Despite the possibility of rainfall, temperatures are expected to remain relatively high. According to the IMD forecast, Mumbai's maximum temperature is likely to reach around 35 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may hover near 29 degrees Celsius. (PIC/ SATEJ SHINDE)
