Western Railway is constructing a 6th railway line between Kandivali and Borivali to boost capacity on one of Mumbai’s busiest suburban corridors
A 30-day track block has been imposed until January 18 to facilitate major engineering, signalling, and overhead work for the 6th line
The new track will help segregate local and express trains, reducing congestion on existing lines and improving punctuality
Western Railway is hopeful that the 6th line will reduce delays and improve service reliability for local as well as long-distance trains
The Kandivali–Borivali stretch is the final section of the 6th line upgrade after earlier phases extended it from Bandra Terminus to Kandivali
