Mumbai on Wednesday witnessed heavy rainfall. Water logging was reported in different parts of the city including Andheri, Borivali, Goregaon, Dadar areas. The IMD issued orange alert to Mumbai, Thane, Raigad and Palghar district. see pics (Mid-day Photo Team)

As per the Regional Meteorological Centre, Mumbai city received 12.44 mm of rain and eastern suburbs and western suburbs received 42.41 mm and 40.46 mm of rain respectively from 8 am to 12 pm (Pic/Anurag Ahire)

With the level of lakes supplying water to Mumbai going down due to inadequate rainfall in their catchment areas, the city civic body has decided to impose a 10 per cent water cut here starting from Saturday
