According to preliminary information by Central Railway, nobody was injured in the incident

CR Chief Public Relations Office Shivraj Manaspure said four wagons, including a brake van, of the freight train, headed to Vasai from Panvel, derailed on the Panvel-Kalamboli section at around 3.05 pm

"ART (Accident relief train) from Kalyan and Kurla stations is being sent to the accident site," Manaspure informed

After the incident, around five passenger trains were detained at various spots on the Konkan-Mumbai route

Navi Mumbai suburban services between the Panvel-CSMT section were unaffected as the incident occurred on the Panvel-Kalamboli railway line, which further leads to Mumbai and Vasai

Today on 30/09/23, due to a Derailment on the UP Through line in the Central Railway Zone, near Panvel station, all trains towards Vasai/Surat will be delayed indefinitely. The inconvenience caused to passengers is deeply regretted, posted DRM Mumbai Central, WR on X

Informing about the updates, the Central Railway on X posted, "Restoration work is going on. DRM/Mumbai and other officers are at accident site"

Out of 59 wagons of goods train, 54 wagons are cleared from accident site and they are departed from site and brought to kalamboli goods yard, stated CR official

"Now 5 derailed wagons (4 wagons+ 1 brakevan) remained at accident site," added Central Railway
