Powerful gusts and persistent rain on Thursday reduced visibility and made the weather difficult for daily commuters

The stormy weather brought fierce winds along Mumbai's western coastline, forcing residents to struggle against the conditions while travelling near the seafront

The latest spell of monsoon rain brought wet and windy conditions to several parts of Mumbai, particularly along the city's coastal areas

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a yellow alert for Mumbai and Thane, forecasting heavy rainfall at isolated places along with strong winds of 50-60 kmph, gusting up to 70 kmph, on Thursday

Residents were advised to remain cautious while travelling, especially in open areas along the seafront where strong winds and heavy showers were expected

Despite the challenging weather, schoolchildren, commuters and local residents continued with their daily routines, navigating stretches in strong winds
