Licences of Lenexis Foodworks Pvt Ltd (Mahim) and Café Cadell (Shivaji Park) were suspended for inadequate ventilation, grease-laden exhaust systems, stagnant water on floors, lack of proper drainage, cross-contamination risks between vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, absence of temperature monitoring equipment, and failure to maintain cleaning and sanitation records

The action came during the FDA’s statewide ‘Safe Food, Safe Maharashtra’ campaign, under which licences of nine Mumbai establishments were suspended and several food businesses across Maharashtra faced action over food-safety, hygiene and quality violations

Speaking on the raids, Food Safety Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe said: “The administration’s stance on food quality and law enforcement in Maharashtra is firm. We will not tolerate any compromise with public health. Safe and pure food is every citizen’s right. Those found adulterating food or dealing in banned items will face even stricter action, and this will continue"
