The drill began at 4:30 pm on Sunday with the sounding of a siren, after which all planned activities were carried out effectively and smoothly, an official statement said
The drill simulated an air strike/bomb attack scenario. Upon the alert, immediate instructions were broadcast to ensure public safety. Citizens followed the directions calmly without panic and moved to designated safe zones, it said
Rescue teams then conducted a thorough search of the area and safely evacuated the 'injured' and 'trapped' people, providing them with first aid, it further stated
The drill saw active participation from various departments including Revenue, Health, Police, Civil Defence, Home Guards, TMC (Thane Municipal Corporation), Disaster Management, TDRF personnel, Fire Brigade, Lodha Amara society’s fire response team, security staff, and local residents, the statement said
All involved departments participated with seriousness and followed the central guidelines strictly. There were no rumours or panic among citizens, and public cooperation was commendable, it said
