In Photos: Thane rains cause tree fall, two houses damaged in Panchpakhadi

A tree fell on two houses in the Panchpakhadi area of Thane (West) on Sunday morning, causing severe damage to the roofs of both structures, officials from the Thane Municipal Corporation’s Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) said. According to officials, the incident was reported at around 9:00 am on July 5 at Yashodhan Niwas Society near Tekdi Bungalow in Panchpakhadi. No injuries were reported in the incident.

The fallen tree damaged two houses in the society. The affected houses were identified as room number 63, owned by Rajesh Gawade, and room number 64, owned by Sudam Salunkhe.

After receiving information about the incident, RDMC personnel reached the location with a pickup vehicle and a JCB machine.

Fire brigade personnel also arrived at the spot with a fire vehicle to assist in the operation.

Officials said teams from the disaster management cell and fire brigade were carrying out work to cut and remove the fallen tree from the site.
