According to officials, a portion of the gallery outside a first-floor room collapsed. The building, which has a ground floor, two upper floors and a terrace flat, is around 45 years old.

Teams from the Disaster Management Cell, Fire Brigade, Wagle Ward Committee, Public Works Department, electricity department and local police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident.

The injured were identified as 65-year-old Nuri Islam Sheikh and 36-year-old Suresh Thapa. Sheikh suffered injuries to his head, shoulder and leg, while Thapa sustained minor head injuries.

Authorities vacated the entire building after the remaining portion of the structure was found unsafe. The area was cordoned off to prevent any further accidents.
