Continuous heavy rainfall has submerged several parts of the Vasai-Virar region, causing severe waterlogging, disrupting local train services, and affecting daily life. Vasai and Virar faced severe waterlogging across key sections. Waterlogging was also reported in Saphale, Kelve Road, Vasai Road, and Nallasopara stations

On Tuesday night, several Virar-bound local trains were halted at Vasai Road due to waterlogging, leaving commuters stranded and frustrated

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has upgraded the weather warning for Palghar district to red alert, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall and thunderstorm with lightning and gusty winds (50-60kmph) at isolated places

The intensity is likely to reduce on Thursday, with the IMD placing the district under yellow alert.
