IMD has forecast generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rainfall across Maharashtra on Sunday, while warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places and extremely heavy showers at isolated locations in the Ghat areas

The civic body recorded average rainfall of 22.79 mm in the city, 38.69 mm in the eastern suburbs, and 36.99 mm in the western suburbs during the period in 10 hours, ending at 6 pm

Wind speeds remained significantly high, with gusts reaching 72.4 kmph in C and D ward areas of the city, 75 kmph in Ghatkopar, and 77 kmph in Bandra West

The strong winds led to more than 250 complaints of fallen trees and branches across Mumbai

Meanwhile, sea of visitors was seen at the iconic Marine Drive on Sunday as the city witnessed a high tide of 4.19 metres amid persistent monsoon showers

With the afternoon high tide coinciding with heavy rainfall, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) urged citizens to avoid venturing onto the promenade or going close to the sea wall, warning that rough sea conditions and rising water levels could pose a safety risk

The combination of heavy rain and high tide also heightened the possibility of temporary waterlogging in low-lying coastal areas, prompting authorities to advise residents to exercise caution while stepping outdoors.
