The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for Mumbai as the city on Wednesday continued to witness hot and humid weather conditions
The city’s air quality remained in the moderate category. As per the Central Pollution Control Board’s Sameer app, Mumbai recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 83
Santacruz recorded 36.6 degrees Celsius, significantly above normal by 3.4 degrees, while Colaba reported a comparatively lower 34.2 degrees Celsius
Maharashtra continued to reel under rising temperatures on Tuesday, with several regions recording above-normal heat, according to the IMD
While major parts of the state are reeling in hot weather conditions, IMD on Wednesday predicted light rains, thunderstorm and gusty winds in some parts of Maharashtra
The weather department also issued a yellow alert for hot and humid conditions in isolated pockets of Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad for March 25 and March 26
