Growing up in the red light area of Kamathipura, Shankar M. Mugalkhod was astounded by the atrocities women faced in his locality. Inspired by his mother’s work in society, Shankar began the grace foundation that helps people in need. Shankar also runs a free ambulance service for people who are in need of urgent medical attention.During the COVID induced lockdown, the grace foundation helped over 500 women from Kamathipura reach their hometowns in Kolkata. Apart from providing groceries, medical supplies and clothing, they also raised funds to help children in these areas get better educational facilities. Watch this video to find out more.
