Spending quality time with yourself does not make you a loser or a loner. In fact, if certain psychologists are to be believed, eating out alone or watching a movie solo is actually a sign of maturity. Think back to when you visit restaurants, do you even register the guy sitting alone having his sandwich?

Catching a movie all by yourself means no arguments about which one to watch or being constantly disturbed by random observations. Even shopping alone feels great because you don't have someone constantly looking at their watch when you try on your 15th black shirt. The best of all is going on a trip solo. Do the works find the place, make travel and stay arrangements and research fun places to see and things to do. Start with something small like a weekend getaway. The feeling of accomplishment of having planned and executed a holiday, tailormade for you, feels great. If you want to explore your horizons, enroll for a culture exchange program. Organisations like the Rotary Club and AIESEC have famed exchange programs or ask your company for a job exchange program. Even though you might be living with a family, it's not your family and it's far away from home. This makes you responsible for a whole bunch of things.u00a0 You have been so busy putting your life together, and it's just going to get busier.u00a0 that you have not actually found yourself. Spending time alone introduces you to aspects of your personality you did not know existed. You might discover a love for sappy Bollywood films or a liking for potato chocolate. It might even be life changing. Travelling alone helps you meet new people and even though you might think that the friends you have are great, a few more before 30 won't hurt.
