At least 22 people on their way to a wedding were killed and 30 injured when the bus they were travelling in fell into a river in Uttar Pradesh's Jalaun district, an official said on Wednesday.

"The mishap took place after midnight at Jalaun's Maharajpura village that shares a border with Madhya Pradesh. The bus skidded off the road and fell into the Pahuj river," Superintendent of Police Prem Gautam said over phone from Jalaun, about 250 km from here.
