A trial court here Saturday dismissed Janata Party chief Subramanian Swamy's plea to make union Home Minister P. Chidambaram a co-accused in the 2G spectrum allotment case Special CBI judge O.P. Saini dismissed the petition. The court posted the matter for further hearing March 17. "The prayer of Swamy seeking summoning of P. Chidambaram is dismissed,"u00a0judgeu00a0Saini said. <img height="563" alt="Home Minister P Chidambaram" src="/imagedata/2012/feb/chidu.jpg" width="400" border="4" /> Photo: AFP Swamy had filed a plea seeking direction to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe the role of Chidambaram in fixing 2G licence prices and grant of spectrum. In his application, he had said under the 2003 decision of the empowered Group of Ministers (GoM) approved by the cabinet, the pricing formula for spectrum was required to be finalised jointly by the department of telecommunications (DoT) and the finance ministry headed by P. Chidambaram at that time. Swami will appeal against the verdict in High Court.
