Air India moves apex court against striking pilots

Crisis-hit Air India today filed a contempt of court application in the Supreme Court against its on-strike pilots.

The Air India management Thursday moved the Supreme Court seeking initiation of contempt proceedings against the office bearers of the Indian Pilots Guild (IPG) for defying its May 2 order on imparting training to the pilots of Air India and the erstwhile Indian Airlines for Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

The Air India management contended that the IPG was thwarting the implementation of the apex court order by which the pilots of Air India and that of the erstwhile Indian Airlines were to receive training in equal numbers for flying the Boeing 787.
