Chennai: DMK chief M. Karunanidhi will appear before the Chennai court on January 18 in connection with a criminal defamation charge filed against him by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo J. Jayalalithaa.

Jayalalithaa had last year filed cases against Karunanidhi and the editor of Ananda Vikatan for allegedly publishing defamatory articles against her.
