New Delhi: A Delhi court has sentenced a youth to 10 years rigorous imprisonment for raping a six-year-old girl here in 2012, saying the victim was a "reliable witness" and her evidence inspires confidence. Additional Sessions Judge Rajneesh Kumar Gupta handed down the jail term to 22-year-old Ajay Prasad, a watchman, under section 376(2)(f)(rape of a woman under 12 years of age) of the IPC and also imposed on him a fine of Rs 20,000.
"From the evidence on record, the prosecution has proved its case beyond reasonable doubt that Ajay has committed rape with the child," the court said.
