24-yr-old housewife's body found near Badlapur railway tracks; victim's kin allege in-laws tortured her as she couldn't deliver a boy after being made to undergo family planning operation
A 24-year-old housewife from Ulhasnagar was found dead on the railway tracks near Badlapur recently. The victim’s family alleges there were frequent quarrels between the deceased and her in-laws as she was unable to deliver a male child. According to the Badlapur police, they found the body of Sangita Shinde (24) on April 20, from the railway tracks near Badlapur station. Since it was unidentified at the time of recovery, it was kept in Central hospital in Ulhasnagar.
However, yesterday, the police called Sangita’s father at the hospital for identifying the body, since he had earlier registered a missing complaint in Hill Line police station at Ulhasnagar. He confirmed that the body was his daughter’s. Sangita married Ramesh Shinde in 2004, and began staying with her in-laws at Vangani in Thane district. Over the years, she delivered two baby girls, who are now three and one-and-a-half years old.
