Pune: Heavy rains lashed the city as well as its surrounding areas of Western Maharashtra on Friday, disrupting rail and road traffic between Pune and Mumbai.

I S Patil inspector in-charge of Lonavala city police station said, “there were the reports of water logging on old Mumbai-Pune highway that disturbed the traffic and hence the road was closed for some time. However, express highway traffic was moving smoothly and no incident was reported. Not only the roads, but some of the train tracks were also affected in Lonvala and Maval area.”
