Cops on lookout for PCMC's Bhima Bobde after discovering he bought two revolvers for Rs 70,000

The Nigdi police have booked BJP corporator Bhima Bobde (45) of the Pimpri- Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) for allegedly buying two country-made pistols. It was the arrest of six persons, including four from Bihar, for selling two country-made pistols that set the police on Bobde's trail. The six arrested were Atmakumar Yadav (24), Dinesh Yadav (20), Mohammed Raza Shaikh (22), Deenanath Gupta (25), all residents of Khajapurkala in Bihar and two othersu00a0-- Anup Sonavane (26) of Ota Scheme area and Prajwan Ghodke (30), a resident of Bhavani Peth police colony.

The secret arms deal came to the fore by chance after the police detained Sonavane in connection with his alleged role in a theft case. Sonavane then spilled the beans on the secret selling of arms. The police are now looking for two other pistols and Bobde who allegedly bought them.The Nigdi police said Bobde was absconding ever since his name cropped up in the case. The police said the revolvers were kept with Ghodke as he stays in the police colony. The police have seized two country-made revolvers and six cartridges from Ghodke. Police Inspector Nandkumar Bhosale Patil of Nigdi police station said the arrested were produced in the court and have been remanded in police custody until June 10.
