With the HSC practical exams just a day away, the state cabinet meet scheduled for today will hold the key to unlocking the deadlock between the education department and the Maharashtra State Federation of Junior College Teachers’ Organisation (MSFJCT).

Over 11 lakh students are appearing for this year’s HSC exams and their preparations have been hit over the uncertainty of the exams being conducted, as the 60,000-strong teachers’ federation has decided to boycott exam-related duties over long-pending demands.

After days of wrangling, the state education commissioner S Choklingam said that the state would take a decision today.
