Paytm employees fired as company hit with Rs 10 crore cashback fraud

Paytm Mall, the e-commerce business of Paytm discovered fraud of nearly Rs 10 crore following a probe into a large percentage of cashbacks earned by small merchants and de-listed hundreds of sellers from its platform apart from sacking few employees.

Pertaining to the feasibility of businesses providing freebies, Paytm's chairman and chief executive Vijay Shekhar Sharma said that the cashback model can be sustained.
