A 43-YEAR-OLD housewife, Niloopher Shaikh, and a 32-year-old autorickshaw driver, Mohammad Iqbal Gouris, were attacked with sharp weapons by a group of unidentified young people over a parking tiff opposite the Royal Bakery on MG Road in Camp at 12.15 am.

A 43-YEAR-OLD housewife, Niloopher Shaikh, and a 32-year-old autorickshaw driver, Mohammad Iqbal Gouris, were attacked with sharp weapons by a group of unidentified young people over a parking tiff opposite the Royal Bakery on MG Road in Camp at 12.15 am.

Shaikh was stabbed with a knife on her head and severely wounded. She was admitted to Sassoon General Hospital for treatment.

Dr Suhas Dhekne, chief medical officer at the hospital, said four stitches were required on Shaikh's head.
"She is out of danger now," said Dekhne.Shaikh's family said she had just tried to intervene in a quarrel. The Khadak police registered complaints made by Gouris and Shaikh.
