Air India and Air Astana sign codeshare deal to boost India-Central Asia connectivity

The move builds on the existing interline agreement signed earlier this year and will allow Air India customers to enjoy seamless travel from cities across India to Almaty on a single ticket, with baggage checked through to the final destination

The partnership gives Air Astana access to 27 Air India destinations via Delhi and Mumbai.

Air India, India’s flag carrier, has entered into a codeshare partnership with Air Astana, the national airline of Kazakhstan, to enhance connectivity between the two countries and beyond. The agreement will see Air India place its ‘AI’ code on Air Astana flights operating between Almaty and Delhi, and Almaty and Mumbai.

The move builds on the existing interline agreement signed earlier this year and will allow Air India customers to enjoy seamless travel from cities across India to Almaty on a single ticket, with baggage checked through to the final destination.
