Assuring the people of Bihar that Mahagathbandhan's government will make the state corruption-free, INDIA bloc's chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav said on Friday that he will ensure a corruption-free government in the state if the opposition alliance comes to power.

The RJD and Mahagathbandhan’s CM candidate also promised that he would present a government that would listen to the people's grievances and ensure affordable medicines and jobs for them.

Tejashwi Yadav, while talking to the media on Friday, said that, "If the INDIA bloc comes to power in Bihar, as a CM, I will ensure there will be no crime. I will present a government that will be corruption-free," as cited by news agency PTI.

Earlier on Thursday, the INDIA bloc declared RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav their chief ministerial candidate for the Bihar assembly polls 2025 in what is being seen as a last-ditch effort to put an end to squabbles after weeks of intense deliberations and project unity ahead of the elections.

A day before the INDIA bloc announced their CM candidate for the upcoming polls. Former Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot reached Patna and visited Tejashwi Yadav at his residence.

Senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot, who has been in Patna since Wednesday, was allegedly there to resolve differences with the Opposition bloc.

Gehlot said that Vikassheel Insan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahni and leaders from other sections of society will be deputy CMs if the INDIA bloc comes to power in the state, "keeping in mind the complex social structure of Bihar,” he added.

Senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot further assured that the INDIA Bloc is "fully united" after he and AICC Bihar in-charge Krishna Allavaru met with Rashtriya Janata Dal's top leadership, Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav.

Ashok Gehlot, who arrived in Patna on Wednesday, clarified that there is no significant conflict within the Mahagathbandhan. The ex-Rajasthan Chief Minister further said that minor differences over a few seats in the 243-member alliance are normal and not unusual in any state-level coalition.

Speaking to the media earlier, Gehlot said, "There is no dispute in Mahagathbandhan, focusing on 243 seats, and in such a large alliance, having differences over 5 to 10 seats is nothing unusual. In any state where there's an alliance, it's possible that conflicts may arise over a few seats. There are friendly fights, and that happens in all other states as well. Mahagathbandhan remains firm against the BJP and JD(U)," as cited by news agency ANI.
