Union Home Minister Amit Shah, speaking in Bihar’s Sitamarhi, accused Congress and RJD of resisting the special electoral roll revision to protect infiltrators. He defended Operation Sindoor, claimed NDA will win upcoming polls, and criticised the opposition’s record. His remarks follow Congress’s ‘Vote Adhikaar Rally’ in Bengaluru.

With the ongoing controversy over vote manipulation and Bihar SIR electoral rolls, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday slammed opposition parties. The Union Home Minister criticised the opposition for objecting to the special intensive revision of electoral rolls in Bihar, asserting that infiltrators have "no right to vote".

While speaking on the allegations, Shah asserted that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was "indulging in politics over the SIR exercise" in the state, as per news agency PTI.

Addressing a public meeting at Punauradham in Sitamarhi district, Shah said, “Names of infiltrators must be removed from the voters' lists. They have no right to vote. But the RJD and the Congress are opposing SIR in Bihar because the names of infiltrators are being deleted from the lists."

On the opposition parties' stand on Operation Sindoor, Shah claimed that terrorist attacks were "frequent in India during the UPA regime," as cited by news agency PTI.

He further added, "But now India is different under Narendra Modi ji's regime. Our soldiers killed terrorists in their hideouts. But the RJD and Congress leaders are opposing Operation Sindoor.”

Amit Shah, while addressing the people, also asserted that the NDA will form the government in the coming assembly polls.

"The RJD did nothing for Bihar. Lalu ji, as central minister, sanctioned Rs 1,132 crore for railway infrastructure in Bihar, while our government provided Rs 10,066 crore in FY '26," he further added.

The remarks from Home Minister Amit Shah come after Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi attended the ‘Vote Adhikaar Rally’ at Freedom Park in Bengaluru on Friday. The “Vote Adhikaar Rally” was organised by Congress after Rahul Gandhi held a press conference on voter list manipulation in the Mahadevapura constituency in Karnataka.

Reportedly, along with Rahul Gandhi, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy CM DK Shivakumar, and other senior party leaders also took part in the rally.

The Leader of the Opposition, while posting on his X account, said that "vote theft is not just an electoral scam; it is a major betrayal committed against the Constitution and democracy. Let the nation's culprits hear this – times will change, and punishment will surely be meted out.”
