Met department predicts low lying areas will be flooded, and Bangaloreans can expect severe traffic jams
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rains in urban Bangalore in the coming week.
Nearly 60 cms of rainfall is likely to deluge low lying areas like Koramangala, Lakshmi Layout, J P Nagar and IT districts like Electronic City.
IMD persons from Chennai said they were watching the changes in the Bay of Bengal, which initiates clouds in the southern parts. The situation will become grave if a cyclone hits southern India.
Scattered heavy to isolated very heavy rain is likely to occur over coastal and north interior Karnataka during the next 48 hours.
