CM Devendra Fadnavis announces immediate formation of PMRDA

On his first visit to the city after becoming chief minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis announced the immediate formation of the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) on Tuesday. He also stressed on the long- pending need for an efficient public transport system for the city, and assured journalists at a press conference that he would push for the proposed Pune Metro. Fadnavis also said he would appoint an IAS-level official to bring the public bus transport undertaking, Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML), back on track.
