Police Inspector Mohammed Rafiq of the Mahadevapura police station yesterday survived an attack by Johnson Anjanappa (34), a gangster who operates across states.
Anjanappa, who was involved in over 20 robberies, two murders and five cases of grievous assault, was shot dead by Rafiq and Inspector Rajesh of HSR Layout police station in an encounter early yesterday morning.
