Air India has announced that some of its domestic flights at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport will move from Terminal 3 (T3) to Terminal 2 (T2) starting October 26 2025. For passengers, the airline on Saturday, share complete details on its operations from Sunday.
The change comes as Terminal 3 undergoes enlargement work by Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) to increase international passenger capacity.
The move affects 60 of Air India’s daily domestic flights, which have been renumbered with flight numbers beginning with ‘AI-1XXX’. The remaining 120 daily domestic flights and all international flights will continue to operate from T3.
Passengers are advised to check their terminal information on tickets, the Air India website, or the mobile app before heading to the airport, the airline said.
For those needing to transfer between terminals, a free shuttle service operates every 20 minutes between T1, T2, and T3.
Passengers with reduced mobility can use buggy services, while all travellers may also walk via a covered walkway connecting the arrivals areas of T2 and T3. Terminal transfers should allow 30-45 minutes to account for travel and waiting times.
Baggage procedures vary depending on the journey: for international to domestic connections, bags must be collected at arrivals, cleared through customs, and dropped at the T3 transfer desk. For domestic-to-domestic or domestic-to-international flights with through-checked baggage, no collection is required.
Air India has requested its passengers to keep their contact details updated to receive notifications of terminal changes. Ground staff wearing identifiable shirts will be available to assist travellers.
