Delhi moves to set up integrated transport agency

The Delhi cabinet has approved a bill for setting up Delhi Urban Mass Transit Authority (DUMTA), an agency for integrated handling of transport related issues.
The Delhi cabinet has approved a bill for setting up Delhi Urban Mass Transit Authority (DUMTA), an agency for integrated handling of transport related issues.
"There is no coordination between agency responsible for constructing and managing road network, traffic police and transport department as the former two do not come under Delhi government. This is affecting the transport sector which is quite crucial for the residents in the city," Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit told reporters after the cabinet meeting.
