The Delhi Police has issued two summons to Al Falah University chairman in connection with the ongoing probe into the Faridabad terror module case and the two cases registered against the university for forgery and cheating, an official said on Monday, reported news agency PTI.

The summons were sent after investigators found that the university's chairman Javed Ahmad Siddiqui's statement was crucial for clarifying several inconsistencies linked to the functioning of the university and the activities of individuals associated with the institution, reported PTI.

The Crime Branch has already registered two FIRs against the Haryana-based university for cheating and forgery, following serious red flags raised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) on Saturday, reported PTI.

Officials said both regulatory bodies flagged "major irregularities" after reviewing the university's accreditation claims and submitted their findings to law enforcement agencies.

"The FIRs pertain to alleged false accreditation documents and claims made by the university. The matter is being investigated in detail," a senior officer said, reported PTI.

Police sources said that the issuance of summons to Siddiqui is part of a wider line of inquiry that overlaps with the ongoing investigation into the blast near the Red Fort last week, reported PTI.

Several suspects linked to the blast are believed to have had associations with the university, prompting investigators to examine institutional records, financial transactions and administrative approvals.

Further investigation is underway.

Faridabad police questions over 2,000 Kashmiri students, tenants

Meanwhile, as security agencies continue to probe the possible links to Delhi blast near Red Fort which killed atleast 12 people, Faridabad Police on Monday continued questioning multiple Kashmiri students living on rent in the city in an erffort to see whether any other possible leads and links could be found into the alleged "white collar terror module" responsible for the blast, reported ANI.

According to police officials, atleast 2,000 tenants and students who are living in the city have been questioned till now, with further questioning underway.

"Following the blast near the Red Fort, police have been questioning Kashmiri students and tenants living on rent in Faridabad. So far, Faridabad police have questioned over 2,000 tenants and are continuing to question them further," according to a statement from Faridabad Police, reported ANI.

Faridabad's Al-Falah university is where one of the first connections to the alleged "terror module" were revealed by authorities, with officials finding caches of arms, explosives, Ammonium Nitrate among other things.

Since the blast, investigative agencies have launched an inter-state probe to find any alleged links to the blast and the module members, with investigation ongoing in Delhi, Faridabad (Haryana), and Jammu and Kashmir.
