Eknath Shinde plans tunnel below Sanjay Gandhi National to solve traffic problem

<p>PWD minister of state and MSRDC Chairman Eknath Shide on Friday said that in order to solve the traffic problem on the Ghodbunder Road a tunnel will be constructed below the Sanjay Gandhi National connecting Western Express Highway near Borivali and Ghodbunder Road</p>
Thane: PWD minister of state and MSRDC Chairman Eknath Shide on Friday said that in order to solve the traffic problem on the Ghodbunder Road a tunnel will be constructed below the Sanjay Gandhi National connecting Western Express Highway near Borivali and Ghodbunder Road near Tikijiniwadi. The authorities claimed that the work will be done in such a manner that there is no hazard to the environment and forest.
According to Eknath Shide, " In order to solve the problem of traffic on the Thane Ghodbunder road we have decided to construct 10-15 km long tunnel pasding below SGNP. The work will be carried in such a manner that there is no hazard to the wildlife and environment. The tenders for the appointment of consultants for doing the feasibility study and preparing the Detailed Project Report has been invited."
