A Retired police inspector's son, Swapnil Jadhav, was booked under the Bombay Police Act Section 151 after
he created a scene at the high security Police Commissioner's Office yesterday evening.
The incident took place at 5 pm after Jadhav rushed inside the office without paying heed to the armed officers on duty.
The constables there nabbed him but Jadhav, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, demanded that he should be allowed in as he was the son of a police inspector and he wanted to meet the Commissioner of Police. The Bundgarden police station officers detained Jadhav and took him to Sassoon General Hospital for a medical test. Jadhav claimed that some people had assaulted him with a stone and even claimed that his gold chain was missing.
Jadhav tried to enter CP Office without making a formal entry at the gate and he allegedly threw his vehicle keys and yelled that he wanted to meet the Commissioner. Constables on duty at the main gate immediately caught him.
When MiD DAY spoke to Jadhav he said: "I am scared of a few people who have attacked me in Koregaon Park. I wanted to report it to the Commissioner. I am shaken up after the incident."
Sources said that Jadhav, son of a retired police inspector, was asked to leave home after his relatives became weary of his alcohol addiction and he had come to CP office to complain about about his family problems.
Senior Police Inspector Suhas Nadgauda said: "We will take action against Jadhav."
