Joint Civil Judge K M Pingle-Kuber has asked Pune Guardian Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar (in pic), his wife Sunetra, son Parth, and ex-chairman of the Standing Committee, Baburao Chandere, to remain present in the court on June 12, in connection with a private criminal case filed by Chandrakant Gundgal related to the Ghotawade land scam.

Gundgal had filed an application in court to constitute a court commission, alleging threats to him and his family by Pawar and his associates.

Gundgal and Sunetra Pawar owned adjacent plots at Ghotawade. According to his, Pawar had allegedly constructed a wall on his plot and created an obstruction on the road.

When he complained about this illegal construction, Pawar’s men allegedly destroyed the wall to dispose of the evidence that might have incriminated them, the complaint said.

According to Gundgal, the accused threatened him of dire consequences if he did not withdraw his application for constituting a court commission. The alleged incident had occurred on December 22, 2013.

“In the past, the court issued summons thrice but the police failed to deliver it to them,” Gundgal claimed.
