Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde has sent a letter to various political leaders requesting them to send their views on reviewing laws for speedier justice and enhanced punishment in cases of aggravated sexual assault to the Justice JS Verma Committee
Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde has assured various political parties that the government has given “anxious consideration” to the need for reviewing laws for speedier justice and enhanced punishment in cases of aggravated sexual assault, officials said.
The assurance came in his letter urging the parties to send their views on the issue to the Justice JS Verma Committee, said official sources, adding the letter was signed by Shinde yesterday and later sent to leaders of political parties.
