Impersonator offers advice to Chief Minister

Mysterious e-mailer, who identified himself as Dr Srinivas Reddy, sought information from top IAS officer and even despatched e-mails to the CM posing as a senior government officer from Andhra Pradesh
About a week after 49-year-old S V Rao, an assistant agriculture officer from Hindupur, was arrested for impersonating an IAS officer in order to avail government facilities he was not entitled to, yet another such case came to light on Wednesday.
E Rajshekarappa, director, Economic and Statistics, State Agriculture Commission, filed a complaint with the Vidhana Soudha Police, asking them to track an impersonator who identified himself as Dr Srinivas Reddy in emails sent from the id prithishgowda@gmail.com.
The police are not clear at this point what the imposter's real name is.

Posing as a senior state government officer, Reddy allegedly communicated with the chief minister and chief secretary and sought information on the working of the Karnataka Agricultural Commission.

He is also said to have offered suggestions on how to improve the body's functioning. Reddy was exposed after Rajashekharappa sought his postal address and telephone number.
"I wanted to invite him for an one-to-one, so I could share the details he had sought and clarify his doubts."
However, Dr Reddy did not respond at all.
When several reminders went in vain, Rajashekharappa contacted his AP counterparts and sought Reddy's contact details. Government officials in AP told Rajashekharappa that there was no officer named Prithish Gowda.
The Vidhana Soudha police told this reporter that the impersonator is likely to be a habitual mischief monger, who is trying to bring disrepute to the state government.

"We are seeking the help of the Cyber Crime Police to track Dr Reddy," said a senior police officer investigating the case.

Last week, 49-year-old SV Rao, an assistant agriculture officer from Hindupur, sent an email to the deputy commissioner of Mysore that introduced him as a deputy secretary in the protocol department in the Andhra Pradesh government and sought a VIP room in Chamundi guesthouse.
