In a rare summer sighting, flocks of flamingos have arrived at Nandur Madhmeshwar Bird Sanctuary in Nashik district, popularly known as the ‘Bharatpur of Maharashtra’, bringing a splash of pink to the reservoir amid April’s scorching heat.

The migratory flamingos, locally known as Rohit, were spotted descending on the sanctuary on April 28, creating a striking visual across the water body at the confluence of the Godavari and Kadwa rivers. The sight is unusual for this time of the year, as flamingo congregations are typically associated with winter months.
