Birth certificate of one of five suspects proves he's a minor; three others produced in Killa court yesterday after forensic reports confirmed their DNA matched swabs taken from survivor
The preliminary DNA reports of the five accused in the gang rape of a 22-year-old photojournalist at Shakti Mills in Mahalaxmi match the swabs from the survivor, Mumbai Crime Branch investigating the case said, strengthening the police’s case to secure conviction for the accused.
The police, who had earlier claimed that all the accused were adults, on Friday produced the first arrested accused in a juvenile court, after his family managed to prove that he was a minor.
