Name Eastern Freeway after comrade Dange, says CPI

The Communist Party of India today demanded that newly-opened Eastern Freeway should be named after veteran Communist leader late S A Dange.

"South Mumbai, where the Freeway originates, was the centre of Comrade Dange's movement. It would be appropriate if the Freeway is named after him," joint secretary of state CPI, Narayan Ghagre said.
The party's state unit has submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, demanding that the road be named after late Dange, he said.
