The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Thursday ramped up pressure on its member Turkiye to drop its objections to Sweden's membership as the military organisation seeks to deal with the issue by the time US President Joe Biden and his counterparts meet next month, the Associated Press reported.
NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg said the alliance wants to bring Sweden into the fold by the time allied leaders meet in Lithuania next month. And, he said, the allies hoped to make progress on long-term funding and the security plan for Ukraine at the same event.
