It's crunch time for the five-star ducks of Delhi.

Those who made merry in the abundant pool of life and entertained high-profile guests at one of the five-star hotels in Delhi, are now facing the indifference of their keepers.

The pool, in which they used to swim along with their comrades, has all but dried up and their masters have forgotten them for decking up the building. More than 15 ducks in the lilly pool of the hotel have been given a cold shoulder following the hotel's renovation for Commonwealth Games 2010.

The pool is situated near the main exit gate of the hotel and there is a garden nearby. The natural corner has always attracted guests especially in winters.

There is very little water left in the pool and the birds have to rely on their ultra-flexible spinal cord to drink and wet themselves.
