Phoney ISI marks on PMC drainage pipes to be probed

Bureau of Indian Standards asks its office in Pune to investigate RTI activist's charge that a majority of the cement pipes used in various parts of the city by the civic body bear forged versions of the symbol of quality
Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has taken serious note of the complaint by RTI activist Satyasheel Jagdale seriously and issued a letter to its Pune office for making further inquiries into the alleged case of counterfeit storm water pipes used by Pune Municipal Corporation at various places in the city.
OP Dahiya, enforcement officer, BIS, Delhi, replying to Jagdale, said, “The complaint has been forwarded to the bureau office in Pune for further probe o the issue.”
