Despite opposing the Intelligent Traffic System (ITS) publicly, BJP and MNS virtually endorsed the proposal by remaining neutral during voting of General Body (GB) meeting yesterday. Consequently, the project managed to acquire a go-ahead, as Shiv-Sena was the only party resisting the move.

During the discussion about ITS, opposition parties had slammed PMC administration about the process of collecting fines. They said that the private agency that would be appointed was in for a windfall, as it would get to keep 70 per cent of the money accumulated.
