Social media is ruling every aspect of our lives. Little wonder then even political parties are taking this route to connect with the public and propagate their views and ideologies. The Shiv Sena is the latest to jump on the bandwagon. Party men have started using Twitter and Facebook to tap new voters and strengthen the bond with their existing vote bank. According to sources, the party will officially announce its social networking cell later this week. The cell, spearheaded by Aditya Thackeray, the president of Yuva Sena, will comprise young Twitteratis and Facebook users.

According to sources close to Thackeray, all the partymen active on Twitter are continuously retweeting the twitter handle @AUThackeray and even sharing the young leader’s posts on Facebook. The tweets include work done by Shiv Sena, Yuva Sena, the Mumbai University Sena Council or any other achievement by the party. u00a0A party leader said, “Many Sena enthusiasts are active on social networking sites. We are bringing them together under one umbrella. They will tweet for the party and retweet the Sena’s work and other achievements.”
