Woman arrested in Malviya Nagar for smuggling drugs in seemingly innocuous household items

Things were going rather well for Kasung Angmphy, until she walked into a courier office on April 7 to enquire about a consignment. Waiting for her there was a team for the Delhi police's Special Cell.

Kasung was nabbed for allegedly indulging in international trafficking of drugs. The special cell sleuths held Kasung after receiving information that she would come to the courier office regarding a parcel that had been sent abroad.

According to the police, the woman would seal drugs inside everyday household items like table lamps and would then courier them abroad.

On April 3, the Narcotics Cell of the Delhi Crime Branch arrested two Nigerians, Mark Lucky and Ivon Xavier and recovered 100 gm of premium quality heroin. The duo would conceal the drugs inside the cavities of specially designed photo frames and then ship them abroad. The arrest was made from a courier company's office, when the duo arrived and enquired about a parcel.
